Cameroon's Ngondo Festival Marks 1st Anniversary as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
The Ngondo water festival of the Sawa/Duala peoples of Douala celebrated its first anniversary since being inscribed on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024. The Canton Bell neighbourhood hosted the Ngondo caravan with two days of ceremonies on the Wouri estuary in September 2025.
